MANAGING TRANSITIONS BETWEEN ACADEMIA, INDUSTRY, THE PUBLIC AND NON-PROFIT SECTOR, AND SELF-EMPLOYMENT
Many of my clients are looking for a fulfilling perspective outside academia. Others have long left university and established a professional identity that they are now beginning to question. And some have had vocational training without a university degree. Regardless of your educational background, if your questions concern your professional development, do get in touch.
These are some of the common results clients report at the end of my one-on-one coaching:
- Clarity about next steps inside and/or outside academia.
- Ability to recognise the current challenges as typical within a broader context of common transition phases.
- Courage and inspiration to get moving.
- A widening of career and life options.
- Better self-care and self-leadership skills.
- More confidence to make decisions.
- Powerful CV and cover letter.
- Feeling well prepared for job interviews.
If you are interested in a one-on-one coaching with me, get in touch so we can find out if we want to work together. To do that, I offer you a free chat (phone or skype) of about 20 minutes. If we both think that coaching is a good idea, we’re good to go.
Coaching sessions typically take 1-2 hours. Depending on your request and goal, one session might be all you need. Alternatively, we plan a set number of sessions stretched out over a couple of weeks or months.
My hourly rate is 120,- EUR (incl. tax). For longer-term coachings (starting from 10 sessions) we can work out an individual rate and payment by instalments.
WHAT PAST CLIENTS SAY
To protect my clients’ identity, I use aliases.
I asked for your help because I was not happy with my job prospects as a teacher. I believed I had made a wrong decision with my degree as I could barely motivate myself to go to work every day during the required internships at schools. You helped me let go of my fear of disappointing my family by not becoming a teacher. That was an important step for me. A lot more is possible with a Master of Education than I had believed. Now is the time to start widening my network and use my expertise as a journalist to explore job options that fit my strengths and interests – and get done with those final exams.
I want to sincerely thank you for ALL your help. Seriously, you were the most essential support in all the stages of this application process and it is no exaggeration to say that I would NEVER have been able to do it without you 🙂 You discovered the vacancy, encouraged me to apply, gave me a push, when I was sort of thinking to myself “ah why bother applying, I will probably never get it anyway”, then you worked amazing wonders on my CV and helped me write the cover letter, then all the essential support in the interview preparation, which helped me to go in the real interview more self-confidently. And last, but not least, your encouraging SMS on the day of the interview… I am so grateful to you.
I would like to thank you again for your extremely helpful tips, the many revisions and annotations. Without you, this application would look completely different! I am very proud of the result. I would never have thought that it would look this professional in the end.
I liked your coaching very much. Our two intense sessions on the Inner Team helped me gain clarity about my options and next steps.
